Abe was very prone to ear infections (4 sets of tubes by age 5) and he would spike a fever of 103 or 104 within a half hour. Very rapid onset and of course he would get this horrible grayish tint to his skin. Develop a good relationship with your ped - which it sounds like you've done and try to stay calm. Both the doctor and you child will appreciate you dealing with things wiht a level head.
