Here’s a good site for International Adoption. The founders of this organization, Harry and Bertha Holt, were the first couple to bring over Korean orphans. This couple started “International Adoption” as we know it today. After the Korean War they found numerous children without families or homes in a crowded orphanage. I don’t remember the exact number of Korean children they personally adopted but it was around 20.
Today the organization runs adoptions in the following countries:
• China
• Guatemala
• Haiti
• India
• Korea
• Philippines
• Thailand
• Uganda
• United States
• Vietnam
