Default Tip for parents with little kids!

I got this email from a friend of mine and thought I'd pass it on. I guess I hadn't really thought about this much before and now that my kids are older I'm so thankful that this didn't happen to them (especially with my wild daughter)!

Hi,

I'm writing to my friends and family with little ones, soon to have little ones, and grandparents. Yesterday my son was playing in his room yesterday as he always does, and I heard a crash, glass breaking and screaming. He had pulled his dresser (luckily on 4 drawers) down on top of his entire body and was pinned underneath. A knob was pinning his cheek down. He cried for a while and then calmed down quite quickly. He has a bruise on his cheek but that's about all. I decided to take him to the Dr. just to get him checked over. He ended up having two CAT scans (he wiggled to much during the first), which was terrifying for him. Thank the Lord that everything is alright, but it was a very scary day.

Thankfully the glass that I heard breaking was actually hard plastic (but still very sharp) and didn't touch him.

So my advice, after learning the hard way, is to mount all of your book shelves, and dressers to the wall. We actually have our book shelves mounted but didn't think this dresser would be a problem. I guess we were wrong. I also heard there was an article in the local paper yesterday about a little one who pulled a big TV down on himself. He is also going to be okay but has to were something on his head. (This is what my mother-in-law told me anyway). We just don't think these things will happen but they do.

I just felt I needed to warn everyone so it didn't have to happen to any of you. Take care!
