Default Re: Who's breastfeeding their babies?

At the hospital, Alex did have a little trouble latching on, but they had some great lactation consultants and the nursery nurses helped me out at the very beginning. I had to use a breast sheild at the very beginning (anyone else every used these?), I guess because my nipples weren't long enough or something like that. Anyway, I breastfed Alex until he was about a month old, and it was wonderful. It really gave us time to bond, and once we were home he was great at it. Unfortunately he went into the hospital shortly thereafter and between the doc telling me to stop breastfeeding him because he had some sort of allergy and being so worried about him, I failed to continue to pump and my milk dried up before we found out he wasn't allergic, but had pyloric stenosis. I tried re-lactating after we brought him home but it just didn't take. I could have kicked the doc who told me to stop though. I can't wait until we have our second one, especially now that I know that doctor's don't always know what their talking about!
