We found that adoption in the U.S. did make us feel like we were "buying" someone and "selling" ourselves as well. That's why we chose Guatemalan adoption. We have a 14-month-old daughter who is the light of our lives, and we have never regretted the decision for an instant.

Yes. Both domestic and foreign adoptions can be expensive upwards of $20,000 I think. Sad to say a caucasian child is much more expensive than one that is Latino or African American or even mixed. Or one that has special needs. Rather sickening IMO.

What about adopting older children? They are probably less expensive as well.

It is rather horrid isn't it - sounds like you are buying children.

I think older children is great, especially if you were/are able to have children of your own. We are looking at sibling groups.
