Well, breastfeeding is costing me nothing this time around because I already had the gear from my first pregnancy. It's really cost-free and I'm so grateful.

When I had my son I tried to breast feed him but I didn't produce much milk. So he bsaically was on soy formula and he did just fine on that.

Yikes! That woman sure does like to shop. *half-grin and a wink*

I nursed my dd for 14 months without buying anything. I already had some plastic baby bottles from the baby shower. I just used my own hand instead of an expensive breastpump when I needed to stock up on breast milk (granted, I was only away from dd for 10 hours a week). I used the ointment that the hospital gave me. As for a pillow, I found that the elbow rest on the side the couch worked fine for me. Instead of buying nursing tops and bras, I just used a couple of my old exercise spandex tops and wore tops that were conductive to nursing.
