Default How do you discourage snacking?

My 4 1/2 month old loves to "snack" at night and in-between meals. I've always fed her on demand no matter what but I find I'm just not getting enough sleep at night because of her need to snack. How can I discourage her from this bad habit?

Without doing CIO? Not sure. She may be ready to give up the snack feedings--but some babies aren't. I have twins and had one of each. The one who wasn't ready BF ecery two hours until she was 11.5 months. The other stopped around 4 or 5 months.

I know it is hard. My baby feed a lot during the day. At night she is better but only because she is so tired. We have a hard time getting her to bed. She'll fall asleep at a decent time but wake up after 15 minutes or so. She has a cycle of this until about 11:30 when she has her final feeding and then she sleeps until 8 or 9 in the morning. Not the best schedule but I guess it is what works for her.

This is one I am mystified with myself. If she's taking all she wants at meal time and still wants to snack, I don't know what you would do. She is pretty young still though. I didnt get a full night's sleep until both my boys were over 14 months old.
