Wow - this was really interesting. I didn't even know that specific maternity insurance existed. THanks for posting this to bring it to others attentions and also a place to continue seeking it if necessary.

In our place, we have maternity leave for 3 months in which we are given a paymet to replace our salary that we won't be able to receive during the time that we're on leave. The payment may not be the same as the salary and which depends on your monthly contributions but it also can cover up the costs of staying at home and other expenses incurred.

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what Medicaid does and doesn't cover as far as pregnancy, delivery, and care of the newborn baby? I can't see Medicaid not covering a baby having to be in an incubator. That just doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't know about medicaid but I for one am extremely grateful that my insurance covered 100% of my pregnancy. That was a huge relief.
