Cravings?
When I was pregnant, all I wanted were what I will term "fair fries". These were fries that were made at any lcoal field days or fair and were slatherd (by me) in vinegar. Myhusband thoght it was just the vinegar that I was after, but it was both! What are/was your cravings?

Re: Cravings?
With my first child I craved tomatoes - breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
With my second child I craved salt - in any shape, form, or fashion.
With this last child I craved mushrooms.
Go figure.

Re: Cravings?
With Alex I craved Japanese food. I have NO idea why. I also craved tangerines a lot towards the end of the pregnancy.

Re: Cravings?
This is neat to read what everyone else craved. With my momit was hard boiled eggs. Anyone know of any chemical or physical reason where these cravings come from when we're pregnant?

Re: Cravings?
With my first child I was desperate for cheesecake. The only thing on this earth I wanted to eat was cheesecake. With my second I think I ate Wendy's or McDonald's cheeseburgers every single day. That or Arby's cheese sticks. Seriously every single day. Everything else tasted gross or turned me off.

Re: Cravings?
Before the days of "junk food" women usually craved the food or thing that had a substance their body needed. (It wasn't unusual for women in some areas to eat dirt because of the iron or the chalk/calcium) Today there is some ligitamacy to our cravings, but you have to be careful. Your body does not crave ice cream and oreos for every meal. Your head might, but not your body. It's a fine line between what the body needs and what the head wants!

Re: Cravings?
Oddly, I craved a lot of healthy foods (my husband was the one with the ice cream cravings). My two favorite foods were Special K waffles and blueberries--I ate them almost every day.

Re: Cravings?
How interesting about the dirt...really takes us back to our basic roots doesn't it? And of course it really is probably our minds that crave the ice cream and vingear and other things...

Re: Cravings?
For the first baby, I just craved to eat more and thus, I really gained much weight. For the second one, I craved for ice and cold drinks... It seems to be connected coz I can see a similarity of the pattern that I had when I was pregnant with each child and with the child's ways now.

Re: Cravings?
This was a fun topic both to read and to think about. I
didn't have any real cravings except for anything that could
be thought of as food. Seriously! If it was food and tasted
good, I craved it.
