Default dehydration during first trimester

I tend to get easily dehydrated during the first trimester which only multiplies the effects of morning sickness. Any smells tend to make me sick, so does anyone know anything to reduce morning sickness and help with hydration?

I highly recommend drinking tea. There are certain kinds of tea that are said to soothe morning sickness. There are also lollipops that help sooth the sickness. That being said, you honestly can't beat drinking a ton of water.

Kelkat, when I was pregnant with my son I had morning sickness until the middle of my 5th month. It was NOT fun! I found that keeping water or sweet tea on hand at all times, meaning, I had a glass that I carried around the house or around work with me, always seemed to help. My doctor said sometimes just having something sweet in your mouth (like the sweet tea) will supress the nausea. I made sure to make it with decaf tea bags though. You can also try crystallized ginger (which you should be able to get at most grocery stores). Ginger is known from it's ability to calm your stomach, and my doctor assured me it was totally safe for the baby too.

I thin the sweet tea would be great - munching on ice chips all day would be helpful as well. My girlfriend did that and it made a real difference. She even made some weak juice ice cubes and would crush those.
