Re: Can't keep nothing down?
I feel your pain!! I didn't have morning sickness that bad, and luckily didn't get the flu, but I still vomited at least once a day from about one month to about five months pregnant. It was NOT fun. I found that hot decaf tea with crystallized ginger melted in it really helped to settle my stomach.

Oh my goodness. With my first pregnancy I was horribly nautious all the time - although I only threw up once my whole pregnancy. But I couldn't eat anything... I just couldn't get anything down.
Ginger helps - as does peppermint - for sick tummies.

Re: Can't keep nothing down?
I had a miserable time with my pregnancies... I didn't call it morning sickness; I called it 24 hour a day sickness!
My boss would tease me (I worked in a butcher shop, of all places, as one of 3 jobs I held), because I would make mad dashes for the bathroom whenever he made sausages (the smell, combined with the sound of the meat being pushed into the casing? Oh my god... soooo bad!). I got sick when I had to pour orange juice. When I drank milk. You name it.
I lived on peppermint tea and soda biscuits, I swear. Before I got up in the morning, I would nibble on a couple of dry, unsalted crackers. They helped quite a bit.

Re: Can't keep nothing down?
What amazes me is that there are so many women who suffer from nausea and vomitting during pregnancy, but so little that the doctors know to do. If you can't take compazine, or Phenergan, then you are out of luck.
If someone could find a cure for what ails us when we are pregnant, then my husband would be willing for us to have kids till doomsday. With me getting so sick, though, he thinks we should quit now. We'll see !

Amazing isn't it how we even get through pregnancy? I made myself remember that women have been dong this forever thorugh the ages and have made it just fine so far. I wonder if women a hundred, or five hundred years ago had the troubles that we have or if they didn't becasue their diet was so much simpler than ours?
