Default Exercise

Does anyone have any tips on making time to exercise when you have an infant? I'm dying to drop some of the extra weight that I've been carrying around, but it's hard to make time to exercise when Alex is so used to a specific schedule. Sometimes I'm able to walk around the block with him, but that's about it.

I don't have any idea for an exercise but I accepted the fact that when I was breastfeeding my baby, I was meant to be bigger than usual. It is just ain't easy to breastfeed with your stomach being hungry. I really felt the need to eat a lot when I breastfed my baby and was contented with it. However, when the baby got older and he/she keeps on exploring his/her environment, there are lots of exercises for the mothers by running after them at all times.

Walking around the block, or at the mall or anywhere, is a great way to get exercise with your little one. They enjoy being out too.
There are also strength training type exercises that you can do with your baby too. Like sitting him on your feet and doing leg lifts or picking him up and down like in big jumps. He'll have a blast and its good for your arms and back.

You would really be amazed at what walking can do. I walked two miles a day (only 1/2 hour) and took my son along with me in the stroller/buggy. He loved the time outside and it did me more good than just the physical aspect. It was amazing how my frayed nerves could be calmed by a walk and I could tell it reduced my stress level considerably. Seems like too simple a thing, but it works great! (Also, I didn't lose weight right away, but my clothes all fit better...)

Walking really contributes a lot and it is not a very tiring exercise, too. When I walk for longer distances, I really feel more active afterwards. Also, walk briskly, this is the real walking exercise.
