jaescafe - Absolutely! Kids grow so quickly, they often even the toughest boys grow out of the clothes before they can wear them out. Form your earlier post about the stores being sort of smelly, there are other places you can check out too. Many towns have stores that are strictly consignment shops (the stuff tends to be all good, but costs a tad more) and my town in particular has a store at the (my) church, and the items there are even cheaper than the thrift stores. Good luck!

One hint: check for rips, tears, and other mishaps. Some stores are more diligent about getting the best clothing out on their floor, but I bought a shirt the other day that looked fine - until I got it home. It had been sewn together so I wouldn't see the missing buttons.

A great point was made about things other than clothing as well. We get all our board games at the local thrift shop - 95 cents for a perfectly good Candyland with all the pieces - and most of the books I use for homeschooling too. I just picked up a big science experiment book for 25 cents. Retail sticker on the back said $29.95.

I love thrift shops as well. In the right areas, you can get really nice designer clothing for a portion of what they're worth. Of course, ebay is the best!
