Favorite Family Vacations
For a vacation with my family, I like to travel somewhere outside our place and stay in another place to swim in the beaches or have a tour around a place. However, the 'place' depends on the budget.
What about you? What do you usually do during family vacations? Where do you go/stay?

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
We went on our first family vacation to the black hills and Mt Rushmore. Besides the intense hit we had a great time. One of the best things for the kids though was swimming in our hotel which you can do almost anywhere, lol.

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
We like to do family vacatins where the emphasis is on our time together and on t the destination. We like to travel by car if possible and plan out road trips with interesting stops along the way and always leave extra room and time for those great things we jsut "happen upon"

Yes, I agree. I hate to be rushed or have a set schedule. I know some people who have every cost calculated to the cent. That is not the way I like to live. We had things generally planned out, but there was always room for whatever came along.

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
Sometimes, it's worth it to go along with a vacatino plan, even when it doesn't appeal to you. My husband wanted to go to the corvette factory in kentucky and it definately seemd like a boring thing for me to do...but it turned out to be one of the most wonderful things we've ever done!

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
Amy, I completely agree about taking road trips and finding interesting things to stop at along the way. No matter what town you happen to be driving through, there is always something mildly interesting to spend a few minutes at. We love exploring small museums and even community parks as we drive to our destination.

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
Our favorite trips are to any destination that has to do with history. If there are a few historical landmarks in any given area, chances are that we'll like to visit there. Gotta love those spontaneous road trips, too!

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
I love vacations with the whole family - kids, mom and dad, aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandparents. It's not just a vacation, it is an adventure.

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
I've never traveled with anyone but my immediate family. And thinking
of all the aunts, uncles, and cousins, I have a feeling that I'm perfectly
happy keeping it that way.

Re: Favorite Family Vacations
Have you heard about the house swapping? You let someone stay in your home while you are gone and you stay in theirs. Neither of you are out the cost of rooms during your vacation.
