My first few months have typically been rough and I'm usually pretty out of shape by the time delivery comes along. Does anyone have some suggestions on how a busy, homeschooling mom, who has two part time businesses, can schedule exercise AND what kind of exercise is best?

Go for a benefit for both you and your kid(s) - WALK! They get the fresh air, you do as well. It's something that's done together and even just 15 - 30 minutes a day will make a huge difference in not only your physical wel lbeing, but your stress level and emotinal well being as well. Enjoy!

It sounds like you're busy enough with all that you do. I think walking is probably the absolute best thing you can do. even walking for 30 minutes a day will greatly improve your health and get you ready for delivery. Take the kids with you so they get an ealry start in likeing to be active.

My advice is just the same... walk... that was what I did when I was pregnant and walking really helps a lot and it doesn't pressure your body because it doesn't have any stretching and bending, walking is safe and is advisable especially if it is almost time for delivery.

Yup! Walk! I too am a homeschooling mom who runs businesses. I have recently started going on hikes with my boys through local parks and nature areas. Its fun and a great way of teaching about nature, measurements, fitness, mapping... Do a lesson on the run. We do math facts and recite poetry on our walks, or have discussions about all sorts of things.

Wow - I took a look back to see what others suggested and walking sure beats anything hands down so far! I think it's probably becasue it's so accesible, flexible to any schedule andyes, you can take the kid(s) with you. Don't forget to grab those older children or your spouse/significant other ladies - it'a a great time to just chat as well.
