Question Kids in Bible school!

Today is the second day of bible school for my kids. They've never went to bible school before. I'm worried about my 3 year old because she's a handful. My 5 year old learned his first bible verse last night. I'm so proud of him.

I home with my kids all the time and it feels really weird not having them here for the 2 hours they are at bible school. It's nice, I get a few things done, but I really miss them . Anyone else experience this?

I know its hard when you spend all your time with your kids and then have them away from the house for a couple hours. Silence is strange at first, but then you begin to enjoy it. Just think of it this way... your kids are getting to interact with other kids and learn in the process. This is a baby step towards your kids going off to kindergarten where they're gone half a day.

When the kids are away take some time for yourself because time for yourself is rare

Yes, time for me is rare.

My son will be going to kindergarten in the fall and he'll be gone full days every day. I will still have my 3 year old here, but it will be especially difficult when she goes off to preschool next year.

It is hard when the little ones leave for a bit - but it's very healthy for them and for you as well. Trust in the teachers - get to know them and talk with them about your kids. ONce y ou are comfortable with them, not only will you feel better, but your kids will pick up on your comfort level as well. GOod luck and by the way - it's a graet place for little ones to go and begin their exposure to religion. Easy going and non-threatening!

Being in social situations with other kids is very important for children. They start to learn social skills, learn how to play with others, and how to behave. I wouldn't worry too much about your little ones being handfuls. Most children are and I am sure the teachers at bible school are trained to know how to handle them. Take the time to get things done for you, feel good about the time you have alone instead of guilty that you're not there with your children. Bible school is a good transition to when they go off to school full time.

Thanks again for all the kinds and encouraging words. The kids are now done with bible school and did great. The teachers said that they enjoyed them and everyone had fun. What a relief.
