Unhappy hi....

hello everyone...this is my first pregnancy and i am really scared.... i am only thirteen and i have no idea about what is about to happen.i found this site on accident because i was lookin for prenatal care (like information about what is going on in my womb) and it took me here and i thought this looked like an interesting site and maybe helpful to talk to someone else about this... i am about 31 weeks so that makes me about 7 months...... i can't wait until my unborn child gets here but i am afraid i might screw up on being a mother.......any advice for what is about to come???

Hey Ashely, welcome to the forums. My name is Alexa and I gave three month ago birth to a baby girl, so I just went through this. Keep in mind what worked for me may and may not work for you:
I didn't have a bad case of morning sickness. I had it in my first trimester, and basically it anything like toothpaste, mouthwash etc' would make me sick. I would brush my teeth as fast as I could and had it sone with. I also found that Preg vit (pre natal vitamins) Worked well because the calcium and iron were broken up you take the calcium vitamins in the morning and the iron vitamin at night. Stretch marks I don't think thee is really a cream that makes them go away but any cream will do, putting cream on your body will minimize Stretch marks but not necessarily take them away. I also found that I suffered from heart burn, I found a glass of milk did the trick but nothing helped by my last month even drinking water would give me heart burn. Anyway lots of luck and congratulations.

Heya,

I'm just as confused as you.lol. I'm not sure what to expect yet. So far, I've had it pretty easy. My first trimester I had absolutely no signs except that I lost my period & had to pee slightlly more often. I'm now 26 weeks & still not expereincing anything real difficult. I finally broke 120 lbs (121.4), so I've only gained 6 pounds so far. I was wondering if somebody could help me understand what's to come. Also, I hate my dr. She's a really old woman (well probably in her 50's but that's old to me) who won't tell me anything about what's to come. She also accused me of being a drug addict when I questioned why they drug test every visit without telling you first (I found out because they wouldn't test it for proteins because I flushed the toilet therefor making the drug test inadmissable). She's always getting snippy with my mom who's there with me & saying that I'm the patient & if I need to know something I can ask. I also hate the idea that any one of like 5 dr.'s could deliver me. There aren't many options here in my town though...so does anybody have any advice for dealing with my dr?

Welcome Ashley!

The first one is always scary. But believe me you'll know what to do. It's like this innate mothering thing that we all have. Let us know how every thing goes

Congratulations!

Okay, here's my advice. First, for anyone who isn't comfortable with their doctor, CHANGE NOW. There is no law that says you have to stay with a specific ob/gyn, especially if you aren't comfortable with them. You will have enough stress and confusion during this time, there is no need to compound that with someone you don't like.

As for knowing what to expect, that's simple. Expect anything. Believe it or not, your instincts will kick in almost automatically. I took me about a week before I could tell which of my son's cries meant he was hungry, which meant he needed to be changed, which meant he was tired, etc. Regardless of your age, you will be your child's mother, and that will be the most amazing thing you've ever done. Holding your child in your arms for the first time (and every time thereafter!) gives you the warmest, most wonderful feeling in all the world. Please feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions ladies, I'd be more than happy to share my experiences!

HI all - I agree with Tigriz. Definately change doctors if you are uncomfotable. Also, immediatley find a support gourp in your area for young mothers. Their resources and support will be quite valuable in the time to come. Keep searching for information and take the best care of yourself as possible.
