How often (if ever) do you get your little one's photos done professionally? Alex had his done around two months, and I want to get them done again at six months because he's changed so much already.

With my eldest I only had them done once, on her first birthday, and I was very disappointed. I don't have a lot of extra money for such things, so I prefer taking pictures myself and then framing them. I like candid shots of the kids. With my eldest her posed pictures didn't even look like her!

I don't have a lot of money for things either, but felt this was very important to me. We got our daughter's pictures taken at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and a year. Now we plan on doing every 6 months until she's in school and probably just once a year after that. I know it can get expensive but this is time you can never get back.

I have never had my children's photos taken professionally. I too have little money for things like that and also think that candid shots show better how your child actually is - their spirit rather than just a pretty face.
