Default Travel Tips

We've always been lucky in that Alex sleeps wonderfully in the car. Whenever we're traveling he generally sleeps the majority of the trip. I have found that keeping his favorites toys (and a selection of them, because he'll tire of them after a while) at hand can also keep him occupied for a good while. Anyone else have any infant travel tips that work for your baby?

This is a great topic. My first child did and always has been great in the car traveling, but the second one is a whole nuther story. She used to just scream and still has trouble, but is a lot better. She is now 3 and we just toughed it out, but if anyone has tips please share. We just got them a portable DVD player so they can watch movies. I know that will help out a lot.

We traveled a great deal by car when my son was little. We had a variety of travel games and toys that only went on those trips, so it made the trip somethign to relaly look forward to. THere were also certain snacks/drinks that we did the same thing with. We always kept a good converstain going and nice music. My son's 17 today and still travels with us. I'm not much on the DVD choice to tell you the truth - to us it was always meant to be a shared family time and a DVD wuld have had him tuning us out. However, each family is different and you'll find the way that works best for you!

We are going to only use our DVD player on long trips. When the kids start getting antsy we will put a movie in. It's a good back up for us if nothing else is working.
