Do you use a crib bumper?
Do you use a crib bumper? Some say yes, some say no. I am on the verge of putting mine up, because my daughter can roll around now and several times has gotten her wee little arm stuck in the slats of the crib.

Re: Do you use a crib bumper?
I've always used a bumper, because Alex has been a mover and a shaker since day one. I always tuck them way down beside the mattress though, so there isn't any space between them. I think once they're able to lift their head and wiggle a bit there is very little danger.

Re: Do you use a crib bumper?
I did use a bumper, but it was just a homeade one made out of an old comforter. It did keep my babies protected from hitting the bars, but I did remove it when they were a little older for fear of them removing it and strangling or smothering themselves.

Re: Do you use a crib bumper?
She can roll around a bit now and lift her head and push with her arms, so I'm thinking she'll be okay with it. I'm much more worried about her losing circulation to her arm by getting it stuck between the bars.

Re: Do you use a crib bumper?
I used a crib bumper and like TIgriz, I tucked it down a way into the mattress area. I found it to be very helpful becasue myson was a real mover as well. Nothing worse than seeing a little person all jammed up against the rails and then having that little "indent" print on their face for an hour or so!

Re: Do you use a crib bumper?
I used a crib bumper until my daughter could pull up on her own as they say they may use it to climb out of the crib. I haven't used one for about 5 months now and haven't had any problems.

Re: Do you use a crib bumper?
I used a crib bumper for my dd. I removed it for a short while, but had to put it back because dd would end up tossing and turning and hitting her head hard against the crib walls several times a night.

Re: Do you use a crib bumper?
I made my own crib bumpers out of thin sheets of styrofoam covered with pretty cloth and just tied to the crib rails. The baby can't stick their arm through and its smother proof because the hard styrofoam won't mold to the baby's face.

That's an innovative idea, Melos! Great thinking! You know, I bet you could design some really cute bumpers like that and sell that idea.
