Default Teething Crackers

Anyone seen these? Similar to the Zwaibaks our moms used to give us I think. These are hard cookie/cracker things that you can give to babies when they're teething. They are supposedly very nutritious too. Has anyone used these?

Yes, I have used the biter biscuits if that's what you're talking about. My daughter has done very well both with them and with Zwieback toast. She likes them and they seem to help. Another thing that seemed to help my daughter is bagels. She just loved them at about 9 months.

My grandmother always made beaten biscuits. She died before I learned how, but I think if I got her recipe I would be fine. They were small biscuits and you could have built a foundation with them they were so hard (atleast I kindof remember them that way. It's been a long long long time ago). Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Haven't heard of that before, but that's a neat story. I always love hearing the different ways my grandparents did things with their own kids. Today everything's so convenient, we just go out and buy it all!

Hmm, that is a good idea of having those crackers for teething though I couldn't use it anymore as I don't have another baby yet

Someone suggested beef jerky and I had to try it. I was amazed. I found some that is real think and there is NO way he's chewing through and he loves it. He'll chew on it for hours. It's like a stick, so he just holds it and chews away. I was really suprised.

Beef jerky! What a great idea and I wish it had been suggested to me. I think it would not have been a problem to even deal with what I imagine is dome pretty nasty drool stains!

When my children were teething, we used frozen thick french fries (or chips for the British folk). Anything they got off in their mouth was just potato mush, and the cold helped with the pain.

We have rusks here, but you can make your own but slowly baking toast bread in the oven for a couple of hours. cut it into strips and spread with marmite first if you have access to it. They come out hard and tasty, cook on low.
