What Age For Teeth?
I know we've discussed all sorts of teething hints, but I'd just like so know when your little one's first teeth came in? Alex is gumming things like crazy, gets fussy in the evenings, chews on his hands and anything else he can reach, and it looks like he's got two bottom teeth coming closer to pushing through, but it's taking FOREVER. I'm wondering if I'm expecting them too soon?

Re: What Age For Teeth?
After consulting my sons' baby books, I can tell you that the first tooth popped through for my oldest at 5 months and my youngest's popped out at 7 months. I knew a child who had 2 teeth when they were born and other's who didn't get teeth until much later.

Re: What Age For Teeth?
That is amazing to know a child with teeth (and 2?) when he/she was born. I never knew that there are babies with teeth upon birth The usual range of age for having teeth is from 5 months up, depends on the baby.

Re: What Age For Teeth?
Teething can take ages. My eldest didn't get her first tooth until her first birthday, but we went through a lot of gumming and fussiness before it finally came through.

Re: What Age For Teeth?
I would have to look back in their baby books to find out for sure, but I think my son was 6 1/2 months and my daughter was about 4 months old. She has seems to do everything before her brother, lol. I think some of it is a second child thing.

Re: What Age For Teeth?
My daughter seemed to be teething forever, but her first tooth finally popped through, at I believe, it was about 8 months.

Re: What Age For Teeth?
My youngest already has six (he's not quite eight months) and I'm pretty sure he's working on more right now. The last four pretty much came in all at once. The first two started coming in about 4 months.
The other two were completely different. When this one started cutting four, I called an dentist friend of mine. He said it wasn't usual to cut that many, but it wasn't abnormal or going to hurt him in the future.
Every one cuts teeth differently.

Re: What Age For Teeth?
Yes, that is so true each baby is very different. My nephew got his teeth later. When he was one he didn't have but 4 teeth I think. Both my kids had a full mouth of teeth at that age, but as previouslty stated each kid is different and still very normal.

Re: What Age For Teeth?
I had also heard about occasional babies being born with teeth. My father in law actually, was born with two bottom teeth already through. Of course we tease him constantly that he's been eating steak ever since. :-)
