Does your baby sleep in a different environment?
We took the kids to my inlaws this weekend and the baby just absolutely wouldn't sleep. Now that we are home she is being clingy, waking up every thirty minutes and crying like she is scared. I don't think I'm taking her anywhere again for awhile!

That sure is a tough problem! The only time my babies slept in a different place, I was there too, and they had no problem. Is your baby usually kinda clingy to you?

Re: Does your baby sleep in a different environment?
We've been traveling with Alex since he was about 3 weeks old, so he does pretty well. I will say he doesn't sleep as well somewhere else (usually gets up earlier and is harder to get down for naps), and he usually catches up once he gets home by sleeping longer for a few days in a row. We always use his pack n play when we travel and I got a mattress for it from Babies r Us that seems to help him sleep better as well.

Re: Does your baby sleep in a different environment?
What great timing for you to bring this up. I am so worried about this. In March, we went to my mother's and the baby would not sleep well at all, we ended up leaving early. We decided to stay in a hotel in our town last month, and the baby would not sleep there at all. We ended up coming home. Well at the end of this week, we are going to my 10 year class reunion and I am so worried she will not sleep again. She is 14 months and if it doesn't work this time we may not be going on another overnight trip for a long while.

Be sure to bring a few comfort items from home. Blanket, stuffed animal, and the sleeping pad is a great idea. Don't let the baby's sleeplessness keep you from going places. It will only be the begining ofa long uphill battle. Eventaully, tiredness will win out and they will fall asleep.

Re: Does your baby sleep in a different environment?
I agree with Amy, as in my case, tiredness eventually won out and they fell asleep. However, if the baby has been sleeping the whole day or has rested and is not tired at night time, there is a great chance that the baby will be sleepless and this might be happening even at the same environment.
