Default Yogurt as a substitute?

Anyone heard of being able to substitute yogurt for some of the calcium in a baby's diet? It's easy to feed and very digestable, however I wondered if it could be a full substitute. Also wondering if you could mix some cereal in with it.

I have never heard of substituting yogurt. How young of a baby are we talking about?

I haven't heard of yogurt as a substitute to feed the baby. However, if it is true that it is digestible and nutritious, then it must be good.

Harleysneak - I'm actually thinking retroactively as my son is 17 now. I was just wondering about the equivalent calcium and vitamin equivalent. OF course, I don't think you could feed them yogurt right from the beginning, however once they start on solids, I don't see why not.

It would be a substitute for nutrition but not a substitute for milk then? They can certainly eat it once they can eat solid foods.

I feed my son yoghurt nearly every day, he is 9 months but he has had it frequently for a couple of months now, they recommend it in New Zealand, especially the fruity yoghurts. He has milk as well, but yoghrt is more filling
