Who's breastfeeding their babies?
With my first child, I failed to breastfeed him for the reason that when he tried to for the first time, he can't seem to find the satisfaction of feeding from my breasts, seems he can't get some milk at that time that he was very hungry so the nurse fed him with the bottle and that was the start of my agony, trying very hard to 'trick' him to my breast, only to be disappointed as he really had his own way of knowing which is my breast and which is the bottle.
With my second child, it was very cool and it created a nice feeling. The hospital never gave it to bottle and so it wasn't hard for me to breastfeed my 2nd baby. I felt satisfied at that time.
What about you, have you breastfed your babies?

Re: Who's breastfeeding their babies?
At the hospital, Alex did have a little trouble latching on, but they had some great lactation consultants and the nursery nurses helped me out at the very beginning. I had to use a breast sheild at the very beginning (anyone else every used these?), I guess because my nipples weren't long enough or something like that. Anyway, I breastfed Alex until he was about a month old, and it was wonderful. It really gave us time to bond, and once we were home he was great at it. Unfortunately he went into the hospital shortly thereafter and between the doc telling me to stop breastfeeding him because he had some sort of allergy and being so worried about him, I failed to continue to pump and my milk dried up before we found out he wasn't allergic, but had pyloric stenosis. I tried re-lactating after we brought him home but it just didn't take. I could have kicked the doc who told me to stop though. I can't wait until we have our second one, especially now that I know that doctor's don't always know what their talking about!

Re: Who's breastfeeding their babies?
My baby girl is three months old and I am still breastfeeding. I had aittle trouble with production but am now taking fenugreek and blessed thistle. It has really helped and I hope to breastfeed until she is 6 months old. Then I will probably introduce cereal.

Re: Who's breastfeeding their babies?
I have breastfed both of my girls. With my eldest I had sore nipples and latching problems, but we got through it and nursed happily for 9 months, at which point she weaned herself, much to my dismay. She just wasn't interested anymore. My current baby is a champion at nursing! I have tried to supplement here and there with bottles but she refuses to take one. Only mom will do!

Re: Who's breastfeeding their babies?
I tried to breastfeed my daughter, but we had awful times latching on. It was so stressful for both of us and at about 1 week (after she had been in the hospital with jaundice), I just couldn't do it anymore, so I started pumping (that was more time consuming than anything I know). For 4 months (until I had to go into the hospital), we gave her pumped breast milk and formula. Although time consuming and tiring, I think it was well worth it. I am going to try breastfeeding again if we have another baby.
