Default Would you leave your three month old for a week?

My sister wants to leave her three month old with a nanny while she goes on a week-long Cancun vacation. I feel weird about that but maybe it's because I'm a stay at home mom? The most important thing is that it's my sister's decision and she feels okay about it. But I'm curious if others would be comfortable with that?

I don't think I could do it, but like you, I'm a stay at home mom. My son is five months old and I haven't left him even overnight as of yet, though I have left him with relatives for a day trip. If your sister is comfortable with the arrangement though, I guess there's nothing really that you can do about it.

I'm a work at home, homeschooling mom, so that shows how much I like having my kids around me

I could never leave my 3 month old baby alone for a week. I can't imagine that she wouldn't be worrying constantly and not enjoy the vacation so much.

I would never leave my baby with a nanny sitter for that long, unless the one who takes care is somebody who I have known for many years to be truthworthy and really concerned of my baby, like relatives, parents, but for other nanny sitters who we hardly know, never.

I know there is no way I could leave my little baby for that long. That's just my opinion, but it would kill me. Leaving my baby overnight was extremely difficult, but was good for me, but any longer I would have died.

Comfortable? No way! Being away from my baby would be a form of torture to me. Our daughter goes on all our vacations. My husband and I love having her along. Dh's mother is always asking to babysit so he and I can go alone on vacation, but we prefer to have dd experience different locations and attractions. That's part of the thrill of being a parent.

Seperating the fact of taking family vacations together and just dealing with the leaving my 3 month alone with a nanny (trusted and familiar I am assuming) would not be a problem for me. Yes, I would miss him- yes I would call every day, however as long as I had provided fo rhim very well, and knew I was leaving him in safe care, I could do it.

I am a stay at home mom also and maybe that affects my thoughts, but there is no way I could leave my 3 month old with a sitter for a week. I feel guilty and miss her so much when I leave her with her grandmother or uncle for a few hours. My partner wants us to take a free trip that we got to Vegas for 2 night/3 days in October. Our daughter will be 16 months old then and I'm still having a hard time agreeing to that.

I'm giong to top the pitiful list here - I haven't even left me nine year old alone for a week. Call me sentimental, but I like my kids. Besides, who in their right mind wants to be seen in a bathing suit just three months after giving birth?

Kelkat - not pitiful. I have 8 & 7 year olds and I've never left either of them for a whole night.
