On May 14, the Feminist Majority Foundation presented Global Women’s Rights Awards to Dr. Sima Samar, chairperson of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission; Yanar Mohammed, founder and president of the Organization of Women’s Freedom in Iraq; Laurie David, environmental leader and producer of the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth; and Dr. Rebecca Gomperts, founder of Women on Waves. To take full advantage of this extraordinary gathering of women leaders, we presented a panel forum including these women as well as FMF president Eleanor Smeal.
