International Association Meeting Focuses on Female Sexual Function and Pelvic Surgery
Female sexual function related to disorders of urologic and gynecologic function in women was the focus of the recently held meeting of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA). Reconstructive pelvic surgery aims to restore anatomic support to the pelvic organs, as well as genital and urologic function. A sexual quality of life assessment was described which has helped achieve a more complete assessment of patient outcomes after surgery. This annual meeting of the premier Urogynecologic Association in the world was focused on discussing new surgical treatments for pelvic reconstruction and their associated outcomes.
