Default Horrible Story

Not to bring everyone down, but we just had a horrible tragedy here in Augusta, Georgia. A young mom was driving home from her parents house with her newborn (about three weeks old I believe). She got a flat and pulled over on the side of the road to call her husband. As she was on the phone, a drunk driver, following her tailights instead of the road, plowed into the back of her car and killed the baby instantly. After being taken to the hospital and released, the young mom tried to kill herself later that the next evening. Her husband found her and luckily was in time to save her. She's now undergoing therapy and counseling.

I heard this and my heart literally cracked. I cannot imagine ever losing my beautiful son, and I cry for that beautiful woman who has suffered so much. I want to stuff the whole friggin' bottle down the drunk driver's throat.

Please, please, everyone be careful at all times, and put those flashers on right away!! Better yet, just get the baby and get away from the car as soon as possible, that's what they make husbands, father's, brothers and triple A for!

Oh my God! What a nightmare! I can't imagine the pain that poor woman must feel. I'm just horrified.

I can feel for that woman as well. It would just kill me if anything ever happened to my daughter. I know we can all empathize with her.

I agree, what a devastating tradgedy, however I don't think the woman was in the wrong for staying with the car. Had she been walking away, the drunk my have still hit them. It's hard to understand these things when they happen and sometimes it's jsut a atter of fate, however tragic.

THis is a horrid tragedy. The do tell you to get away from the car if you are disabled on the side of the road, but no blame should fall with this woman. Drunk drivers should be prosecuted more harshly.
