Default Bathtub Suggestions for Inbetween?

I need a good suggestion for a bathtub for an "inbetween" infant. Meaning, he's no longer a newborn, and very close to being too big for newborn tubs, but he's also not sitting up on his own yet, and toddler tubs don't give him the support he needs. I've purchased two tubs so far, and neither of them are comfortable or easy to use. Any suggestions?

For both of my kids, all that I did was purchase a length of about 3 inch think foam (the type to make cushions with from a fabric store) and made a "U" out of it in the kitchen sink. That was my babies' bathtub. Kitchen sink bathing is easier on the back too.

Ironically, my sister-n-law and I were just discussing this yesterday. She bathed her daughter in the sink at my mom's for the first time and she was commenting on how much easier it had been.

I was telling them that I get in the tub with my 6 month old and then bath myself after dad gets him out. My mom was shocked. She couldn't imagine bathing a baby in anything but the kitchen sink. Just goes to show how things can change from generation to generation.

I first bathed my twins in the baby bathtub in the kitchen sink. Then moved on to the bathtub. Ive seen people use a plastic laundry tub in the bathtub. Seems to work.

I kept my baby in the infant tub, then went to the sitting up tub and now she just sits in the tub by herself or with me in there.

I use a mesh sling that sits in the tub. It cost about $12 at a baby supply store. I love it!!!
