Default What kind of high chair do you use?

Looks like my little baby is ready for cereal already. She's been nursing round the clock and it's been going on for days now. However, she's nowhere near sitting up. What kind of high chair do you use? Is it one that reclines? Thanks!

I had a hard back wooden one. I have seen the ones that recline back, however I would be hesitant to use one - I just don't think a reclingin position is condusive to good swallowing and digestion.

We actually had a standard plastic one that stood alone, but it wasn't very comfortable for Alex. Then my mother in law bought one that actually attaches to your kitchen table chair and it curves around him a bit more, giving him more sitting up support. He liked it so much she sent it home with us and we got rid of the other one.

I bet that saves on space, too!!! You know, I'm just really not looking forward to cleaning a high chair all the time. My eldest daughter was (and is) the mess queen. Maybe this baby will be a little neater.

We have a plastic one, it has 3 recline positions, although I never used them. We started out feeding her in her bouncer seat though and that worked well at first. And no, cleaning the high chair all the time is definitely not my idea of fun.

Does anyone have a tip for getting spaghetti sauce stains off of the plastic without scrubbing it forever?

And am I the only person who would take the high chair out in the yard and hose it down every two weeks?

LOL. Not at all. Alex is just starting to get into the messy phase and I already had to take the old one out and hose it down every so often. This newer one has a cover that is easy to remove and totally washable, so it makes things pretty easy. The tray top is also a bit smaller, so it's a little less work on clean up.

I used the wooden high chair I had when I was a kid--ancient! And rigged up a harness for it. For the other twin I used a small youth chair also with a harness. I detest those big plastic high chairs they have nowadays. For the record never had a problem at all safety wise.
