Okay, we've all seen pictures of these things from when we were kids. But to be totally honest, these things scare the crap out of me. Are they really safe enough to let your little one bounce around in the doorway in?

Truthfully, I never used them. Abram loved the swing (I still wish they made them adult size - who wouldn't like to be put in a swing to sleep for a bit?) and his walker. I never got over being fearful that the swing would malfuntion and Abe would land in a heap.

My friend uses one for her son and says he loves it. My sister has an expensive stand alone one that her baby loves. I tried putting my baby in it and she just looked depressed!

I have two. One Johnny Jump Up and one Fisher Price. My son LOVES them. He will sit for a long time (long for an 8 mth old anyway) and just bounce and bounce. (Did I mention he loves them?)

My brother was a doubter, but when he was over with his daughter she wanted to get in so he let her. He went the next day and bought on.

I would add, though, not to leave the child alone. Some how my son managed to slide through one of the leg holes the other day. He was just bouncing around in a little circle. (His big brother was laughing too hard to help).

They always looked scary to me too. My mom had one and said I loved it when I was a tot, and I kinda wanted to get one for my son, but I never did.

Kelkat, I'm glad to hear about someone who has used them and enjoyed them. And I fully understand about not leaving your little one alone, Alex gets into all sorts of things already and he's not even crawling yet!

I just wanted to let you know once again how great these things are. There was a group of kids over here yesterday. After one would come out of the bouncer, another would take his place. My son still is the bouncing champ! I'm suprised that he's not already running marathons with all the bouncing he does.

I can't imagine anything about these being unsafe.
