Default When to start using the exersaucer?

My baby is 4 1/2 months old. She's working on sitting up and doing pretty well. Her neck and legs are very strong. Do you think I should try out the exersaucer or wait until she's sitting up a little better?

We started Alex in his at about 5 months and I still had to put a rolled up blanket in front of him to keep him from falling forward and conking his head. But he loved every minute of it, and now insists on spending time in it every day (blanket no longer needed of course). I would say if she's strong and seems to enjoy it, give her a little time in it every so often. It can only help in her learning balance and strengthening those muscles that help her hold her self up.

Well I tried her out in it two days ago. The first time she looked kinda glum. But every time since then her enjoyment of it grows. I put her in it this evening and she was positively excited! I don't have to use a blanket and she does an admirable job of holding herself up.

They do get better at it as they get more control. If she enjoys it and it's not "hurting" her, why not go ahead. That said, I tink my girls were about 8 months old before I used the exersaucer. They adored them!!!

My 2nd guy LOVED the exersaucer (we didn't have it for my 1st). If I picked him up and carried him toward it (or past it) he would start kicking his feet and wiggling all around, telling me in every possible way "Put me in that, Mommy! I want to get in there!" He was around 4-5 months old.

I started my daughter in the Intellitainer (similar to the Exersaucer) at about 4 1/2 months as well, and she just loved it. She had no trouble staying up and it was just great!

I put my daughter in one at three months old. It did not work very well. LOL! It sure looked cute though as she was a little dwarf in it. I'll probably try it every two weeks or so until it works.
