For those of you with young kids, or older kids for that matter, I highly recommend taking a weekend getaway with your spouse. Let the grandparents take over (they usually jump at the chance), and spend the weekend with just each other. It doesn't even matter where you go! My hubby and I had to spend the weekend away while looking for a new home, and it was great for our relationship. Felt like we were back in college! (Almost). :-)

That is so true and great advise. Since our kids have been born it has been crazy like most other families, but you have to take time for you and your spouse to be a couple too. The foundation of a family is the husband and wife relationship. If that is ignored I think the family can start to crack. The point LOL, don't forget about what made you fall in love in the first place.

We found we did this when our son was younger, but not so much as he got a little older and found that was a mistake. So, we are back to working on away time together. DOn't forget to keep your relationship going strong through your children's whole life!
