Exclamation Help!!

Okay, from Mom's who've been there or who have thought about it, I need your help. My son is six months old. My husband and I had originally agreed we would start trying for our second one when he turned a year. Recently, my husband got a new job and we are making considerably more money. My husband mentioned last night that he thought it would be fine for us to start trying again anytime now. I want another baby, but I'm not sure having one this soon would be fair to me or to Alex. On the other hand, I've always heard that siblings born closer in age are often closer in life too.

What should I do?

Being financially capable takes a lot of the stress off and leaves the choice up to what you feel in your heart and where your comfort level is. Six months is not a long time in the grand scheme of things. How quickly did you get pregnant the first time? It may take some time, adn you end up close to the year mark anyway. It might also be better to give the new job some time to "settle" before introducing another large life event into the mix.

If it takes you 3 years to get pregnant you will always regret you didn't start trying

All i'm trying to say is that you don't know, and you will cope with whatever the gap ends up being

I may have to disagree here. I think I would like to wait until a year. I have read articles that said your body is best ready for pregnancy two years after you give birth, however, I myself am trying now that my daughter is a year. I was two years apart from my sisters and I feel we are very close. However, the ultimate choice is up to you and how you are feeling.

Another factor is whether youare breastfeeding or not. Not that you can't be pregnancy and breastfeed, buy it is more of a drain on your reserves. Also, think forward to how close in age you are willing to have your children - some couldn't handle 2 under two....

Congratulations on your husband's new job. I agree with Amy, you should take into consideration all the current factors. I think you should let your husband get settled in his new job. Also, if you have any doubts as in to wether or not it is fair to your son, and yourself to have them so close together, it is for a reason, and you should trust your instincts.

I became pregnant with my second son just 3 months after giving birth to my first son. Let me tell you from personal experience that it is extremely tiring being very pregnant and having a 1 year old. I would let your husband settle into his new job for a few months personally and try closer to the year mark.

It's been more than a month since your original post, Tigriz... have you
made a decision about trying or waiting? I saw some very good points
and advice here.
