Question question regarding IUD...

I am trying to get pregnant with our 4th and last child. Does anyone know how long before I can get pregnant after removing an IUD? I had only had it for 2 years although it was supposed to be good for 10 years. I would really appreciate any help on this subject.

I tried doing a little research online for you and although I know A LOT more about IUD's now than I did before I started, I could not find a recommended wait time. Have you asked your doctor?

I've often wondered the same thing with the IUD situation. I wonder if it's similar to going off birth control. My guess is that it would be different for each person since each womens hormonal balance is different.

The 10 year one does have hormones in it, but it is primarily a barrier method of birth control...like condoms. Therefore, you should be able to start trying right away I would think.

My ob/gyn recommended an IUD to me when I was going back on birth control after my son was born. He suggested it because you should be able to start trying literally as soon as you remove it with no ill effects. Good luck!
