Default electronic fertility monitor

Does anyone know the name of the electronic fertility monitor that everyone has been raving about? I think it is called something like Clear Blue.

Any recommendations? Thanks...

There are some popular fertility monitors out there like the LadyComp and Clearblue. The LadyComp will only measure your basal body temperature and it will tell if you are fertile on that day. The Clearblue uses your basal body temperature and your urine tests to determine your fertility during the menstrual cycle.

One discouraging factor about these devices is that they are quite spendy. They range from $100 to as much as $700 But the good thing about the high upfront cost is that these monitors last for many years. The LadyComp is around $500 and is said to last as long as 10 years.

Keep in mind that these monitors are not designed for every woman. Women that have menstrual cycles that is longer than 35 days may not be able to use these. They are designed for women with regular cycles between 23 and 35 days.

As always, please consult your physician

This does not apply to all, especially to those who have irregular menstrual cycle. Also, with its high cost, many will not be able to avail of it.

Wow = this can get pretty pricey! I had to use the old basalm thermometer n teh mouth...and truthfully, it worked jsut fine. I'm sure there's a few who may "need" the electronic monitors, but for the majority of the populaiton, based on the cost, I think the old way will work just fine.

Here's a link that'll give you an idea of what the monitor looks like. It's great. I use it & I just got pregnant after a wierd cycle-- and the only way I know the baby's due date is b/c the monitor told me the exact day I ovulated. http://shopping.yahoo.com/search?p=c...lity%20monitor
I suggest you don't buy it from the link, but research where you can get it cheaper. I'm actually in a study group with Marquette University and I got it free b/c I agreed to send my charts to my doctor every month. So if you can find something like that, it'll cut the cost quite a bit!
Good luck!

How great you were able to work it out to get it for free. It might be worht a few phone calls around to fertility specialist or obgyn clinincs to see if they have similar studies going.

That would be awesome. I never thought of trying to find a study for a product like that.

Just another thought, but when I was going to the fertility doctor, they just had us buy the cheap little ovulation test kits that you pee on the stick to see if you're ovulating. You do that at the same time each day on the days you think you will be ovulating. Pretty basic, but it's a lot cheaper.
