Has anyone heard the wives tale about whether a man wears boxers or briefs (hence regulating temperature of sperm) having an effect of whether you have a boy or a girl? I had chalked it up to fiction, but I thought I read something awhile back about it having some scientific merit.
Our obgyn told us that there are scientific studies that have proven that men who wear boxers are something like 80% more likely to have a healthier/higher sperm count. Apparently the heat and restriction of briefs can actually kill off and or limit sperm production after continued use. I think you'd have to be a brief's wearer for years though before it started to cause problems.
I have also heard that briefs can keep the sperm too warm and cause problems. I have heard that some people struggling with low sperm count have been directed to wear boxers instead.
I just read in "Baby Talk" magazine that the whole boxer/brief thing is a myth. I don't know though, I think the jury must still be out on this one since there is so much conflicting advice.
