Unhappy I feel so awful...

So I know that this is the TTC posting, but I feel more comfortable with the group here.
Yesterday at work, everyone started this show off contest of who has the biggest, priciest engagement/wedding set. Well, when me and my hubby got married, money was not exactly abundant, so I got a very small ring. I have never felt bad about it, but a couple of the girls made me feel very inferior.
When I went home and the hubby & I were in bed, I mentioned to him how they had made me feel. I intended to share my feelings with him - he took it the wrong way and is very upset because I am embarrased about the rings he bought for me. I feel very bad, but he won't listen to my explanation.
What can I do?

I'm sorry that some stupid girls at work had to be the show offs. They're probably lacking something in their lives and they just had to gloat to make themselves feel better. Sorry hubby took it the wrong way, but maybe try explaining it to him a diff day, it just might have been the mood he was in that day and he took it the wrong way.
