Now that Baby is on the Way

Now that you know a baby is on the way, you may be interested in what is happening week by week as your little one continues to grow. You’ll be experiencing some of the first signs of pregnancy, such as fatigue, nausea and mood fluctuations, in response to the changes happening inside you. Review the following for an overview of some of the major steps:

First month

When your doctor calculates your due date, the first week or two before fertilization is usually included, as medical professionals tend to start counting down starting from your last period. Implantation generally occurs at the end of the first month of pregnancy.

Second month

The next four weeks will see the development associated with the embryonic stage. Essential organs, such as the brain, heart and lungs start to appear. Eventually, recognizable facial features will begin to form, including the eyes!
